It is a small Greek island in the Ionian Sea off the coast of Acarnania and is one of the westernmost islands of Greece.
As of 2011, it has never been inhabited.

It is located 6 km northeast of Ithaca and 5 km southwest of Kastos.
Access to the island requires a private boat, with anchorage areas available on the eastern coast and in a bay on the southern coast.

It is administered by the Municipality of Ithaca but is a private island owned by shipping magnate Panayiotis Tsakos.
Most of the time the island remains inhabited by a few goats that roam freely across the island, under an agreement between a shepherd and the current owner of the island.
There is one private house on the island.

The island features varying elevations; 2,180,000 sq.m. are buildable and the remainder is forested area, with certain restrictions in place.
The island size is 470,000 sq.m., and there are currently 4 beaches on the island.
There are dirt roads on the island, and the electricity grid is located 9.24 km away; water infrastructure and telecommunications network are at the same distance.
The island is located 40 km from Kefalonia Airport.
